Tokyo – Nov. 21, 2017 – JSR Corporation announced today that it held the opening ceremony of the JSR-Keio University Medical and Chemical Innovation Center (JKiC) on October 28 at the Keio University Shinanomachi Campus.
The innovation center was established through a March 2015 agreement between Keio University and JSR Corporation with the goal of conducting joint research as an industry-academia-medicine collaboration hub. The new 3,600 m2 JKiC facility will include offices, communication, meeting and exhibitions areas and two floors of open laboratories. Leading-edge equipment such as 3D printers and imaging instruments have also been installed.
JKiC will focus on joint research and collaboration in four main areas:
- Precision Medicine
- Stem Cell Based Medicine & Cell Based Medicine
- Microbiome
- Designed Medical Device
